Paint light to dark- opposite of oils which is dark to light.

Brushes – variety of shapes , points, and ability to splay- natural bristles hold more water.
Value: The way to create value is the ratio of how much pigment to water is on the paper. Is the paper wet or dry and by how much?
There are ways to preserve the white of the paper: masking tape, frisket, wax crayon and if you make a mistake – Mr Clean _
for more opaque color try gauche or Japanese water colors-
For more vibrancy – try water soluble ink.
